Does anyone have any good resources for teaching some basic first aid for K-3 students.  I'm looking for a little booklet I would be able to send home with them.

    Hi Cari,

There is lots of stuff on pinterest or teachers pay teachers.  If you google "girl scouts brownies first aid" you'll also find some really great activities and lesson plans for that age.  One girl scout example can be found here: https://www.girlscoutsofcolorado.org/content/dam/girlscoutsofcolorado/activity_plans/brownie/activity-plan-brownie-badge-first-aid-1.pdf

When I taught my girl scout troop first aid at that age I focused on applying pressure to bleeds, cleaning up after a cut or scrape, how to call for help, and identifying dangerous situations.  We talked about how to handle sharp objects, what to do if they find a needle or sharp object at home or in the community, and when it was appropriate to call 911.  We learned where to look for first aid kits in public places and how to identify where we were so we could tell 911 if we had to call them.  I hope that helps!
