For 24 years I had the honor of serving as the Health Services Supervisor for the Beaver Dam Unified School District; a position I found challenging and immensely rewarding. As the first school nurse hired by the district, I was instrumental in designing and establishing Student Health Services as a district based entity. In March 2017 I took on the role and responsibilties as the State School Nurse/Health Services Consultant for the Wisconsin Department of Instruction. I am equally thrilled to experience the opportunities and challenges of this role.
I am both a nationally certified school nurse (NCSN) and am certified by the Wisconsin Department of Public Instruction (75-School Nurse).
I had the honor of serving as the President of the Wisconsin Association of School Nurses (WASN) July 2012- June 2014. I served as the Wisconsin Director to the National Association of School Nurses (2016-2020).I also served on NASN's Executive Committee and chair the Strategic Research and Ethics Advisory committees.
Presently I am the president of the National Association of State School Nurse Consultants (NASSNC). Previously I served as both the vice-president and president elect and chaired NASSNC's Publications Committee. In 2022 I had the distinct honor of receving NASSNC's Outstanding State School Nurse Consultant of the Year award.
