Attention, school nurses! The Board of Nursing is currently accepting public comments to discuss a proposed change to the definition of delegation. As part of this change, the definition of provider will no longer list those providers from whom school nurses (RNs or LPNs) may accept medical orders. Instead, it will state that "Provider" means any licensed professional legally authorized to delegate acts within the scope of their practice.
This is an important issue that impacts you directly! As a school nurse, your voice matters in this discussion.
We encourage you to review the Proposed Order on the legislative website (C.R. 24-031 Rule Text) and provide your public comment by May 9, 2024.
